Answer 1 of 9. When this has happened to me I used a piece of medical tape wrapped snuggly over the finger to keep the nail from moving. If your real nail is also broken or ripped youd be inviting bacteria or fungus to enter the wound and cause an infection.

Should I let it grow out or should I go and get the acrylic removed. Omg my nail literally looks the same from play fighting with my bf and he fell on my finger it hurt super bad but my cuticle is pushed a little more down like its bigger but its the same finger and my real nail is detached from the bed its stuck on the acrylic nail like only the body part the sides are still attached to the nail bed so I dont know what to do it hurts sooo bad. Here lift the acrylic nail slowly and safely.

Well I was supposed to get a fresh new set tomorrow and I call myself taking off the old ones myself so I wouldnt have to be in the nail salon all day while they do it with acetone but I accidentally ripped off a slight piece of my real nail.
